We also carefully select our physicians and hospitals based on a quality-control process that guarantees excellence, value, and geographical convenience. I don’t think I can afford to travel abroad. Can I still get help from Agile Global Health?

Yes! There are many ways to help finance your trip and make sure you get the care you need, and Agile Global Health may be able to find a local or regional solution that better meets your needs. We work with various government agencies, non-profit organizations, corporations, and healthcare plans that can drastically reduce the costs of travel and treatment. Don’t let financial concerns stop you from seeking the help you need. Please don’t hesitate to contact us so we can discuss options and destinations that fit your individual situation.

Can I take a family member/friend with me when I am traveling?

All our patients travel with a care companion, and this is often a family member or close friend. Even though Agile Global Health will be available throughout your medical journey, we want you to have someone with you during your procedure and to assist you while you recover. When we discuss specifics of your travel and cost, this is factored into your personalized medical travel plan.

What happens when I get home?

We know that the end of your medical treatment doesn’t mean the end of your recovery. We are there with you every step of the way, and that means post-operative or post-procedural treatment as well. We work closely with your home referring physician to make sure they have the medical records from your hospital or doctor abroad. Communication is established between physicians in order to best facilitate any follow up treatment you might need. Continuity of care is important: you,  your referring physician, and your treating physician will all be engaged in a final, satisfactory review to make sure your experience with Agile Global Health met all your medical needs.

Why don’t you offer services in my country?

While we wish we could be everywhere, we know that simply determining on a whim that we’ll set down shop in any country would not allow us to offer the high quality personalized care we are known for. We make strategic decisions about the locations of our Global Health Offices based upon many factors, including the fact that on-the-ground regional support in the areas we serve is crucial to providing our 5-Star Standard of care.

That being said, we intend to help you regardless of your location, and you can still check to see if one of our local travel partners like Kenya Airlines offers Agile Global Health services. While we will not be able to provide local 5-Star Service to traveling patients, our experienced team of remote Care Consultants are prepared to assist you in deciding on your travel location and making preparations.

Where will I be staying when I’m abroad?

Agile Global Health has feet on the ground in most locations you’ll be traveling to—local individuals who are familiar with the area and know the best places to stay that fit your needs. One of our Operations Officers, the primary person you will engaging with on a daily basis in your country of destination, will assist you with check-in and locating nearby facilities such as restaurants, Wi-Fi access, and more.

Will I be able to contact my family back home while I’m out of the country?

Of course! We want you to be able to relay your progress with your family while you are away. Our Operations Officer and your point of contact at your host country will help to facilitate communication via Skype, E-mail, or whatever method works best for you. 

How do I deal with the language barrier?

Our on-site Operations Officer will be there to assist with any issues you may have while in your host country, we arrange for translator services for all medical appointments, and we can provide full-time language capabilities or assistance for special events.

How do I know that I’m making the most financially sound decisions?

You can rest assured from the outset that any medical care plan you choose is the right one for you. Because of our highly personalized service, we are able to select providers within our network that meet all of your budgetary, medical, and scheduling needs. We also have the capability to show you more than one provider package so you can make the best choice possible about your care.

What are the standards for doctor certification/licensing/schooling in the country I am traveling to?

While there are differing requirements for medical education in each country, the differences are not as dramatic as many have been led to believe. There has been much effort recently to work towards cataloging worldwide standards for medical education, and organizations like FAIMER provide plenty of information regarding accredited medical schools; they also list requirements for curriculum completion.
